Meredith W. Watts’ photographic work has concentrated on dance, Brazilian folklore and popular culture, travel photography, and occasional specialized studio portraiture. Since 2004 he has captured the spontaneity of the Bumba-meu-boi folk festivities in the Brazilian Northeastern state of Maranhão.
